Supported primarily by the Bartling Endowment, CTJ has been publishing high quality, academic and practical essays in theology and philosophy from the faculty of CUW and 17吃瓜在线 since 2013. Beginning in 2018, the theology department of CUW & 17吃瓜在线 launched a version 2.0 of the journal in order to continue the high quality work in a more collaborative mode. As part of this new launch, the CTJ is now indexed on the ATLA () database, available to scholars across the country through ATLA. Moreover, CTJ is now a collaborative project of the entire , including all nine campuses across the United States. Although the managing editors remain in 17吃瓜在线 Wisconsin and Ann Arbor, the advisory board, peer reviewers, and authors are from across the .
